Gardening

Went to Sg Buloh with LaundryApOh to buy potted plants & flowers for CNY and also for my house. ApOh likes to go there to buy plants, in fact her house can be a nursery leow but she still wants to buy somemore! *fainted*

I told her, she has to lead the way as I absolutely do not know the way around that area. ApOh is a person who can get agitated very easily, so must prewarn her that I REALLY don't know the way. She said ya ya it's near the Sg Buloh Hospital one, very easy.

Then as we were approaching that place, she was like quite blur leh! Then suddenly I saw the sighboard indicating turn left to Sg Buloh Hospital so I double checked with her, and she was like not too sure but asked me to turn anyway! Good thing there were many signboards indicating the way to the hospital so we found the hospital. She kept saying it's right after the hospital and when we saw the hospital leow, she blur again! Warao, so stressful to drive her around!

Anyway, we found a place to park the car on the side of the road and started shopping for our plants. Wah really "people mountain people sea" (so many people) at that place choosing the many varieties of flowers. I managed to buy some but not as much as ApOh of course. I bought more practical plants, like more greens...something easy to plant la! Notice the red plants in one row? They cost only RM10 for 4! Nice hor???



Then after that I started decorating my pussy willow cos I don't think the buds will open up on time for CNY. So I twisted the cherry blossoms and tied red ribbons on them. Wah took me a few hours to do that! Laundry easier to do la!

Emotional Time

Yesterday was quite a gila night. As usual we rushed like mad to reach home to cook dinner and Apah picked up Kieran from school. When they came back I saw both of them chewing something in their mouth and there was a guilty look on Kieran's face. Of course Amah question la, but he kept avoiding me and finally I asked Apah. He cooly told me, it was just Mentos. WHAT?!?!?! I told him so many times, cannot give anything sweet or anything for that matter to the boy before meal time.

Well, mothers know best, as expected, he was not eating his dinner properly, playing with his food as usual, didn't finish the rice and vegetable. I forced him to finish the vege and at the same time scolded Apah again for feeding him the mentos. Apah actually was very stressed with his work yesterday, already not very happy so lost his cool and let go on Kieran blaming him for my scolding. So he shoved him upstairs to start doing his homework and must have given him very harsh words too. Then he came down saying the boy was sobbing upstairs.

Amah already can't be bothered leow, cos busy baking my cookies. Then Apah had to leave as he haven't packed his bag for his Singapore trip the next day, so got to go back to old place to pack and besides, getting picked up from old place is more convenient for the cabby. Kieran suddenly appeared on the stairs wailing.......apah of course heart softened la...and went to carry him.

Pacified him but he was still sobbing with the vege inside his mouth, so as usual, crying causes him to cough and then..ta da..VOMIT! Vomit on the floor like not enough, and then the maid ushered him into the bathroom and guess where he continued throwing out his food? In the basin! This maid really damn stupid or what, I already told her so many times cannot vomit in the basin, well of course blocked la! I made her clear the 'S' trap and clean the pipe, if not for this small thing I got to call a plumber ah?

But during this drama, Amah just move the mouth to scold, scold, nag, nag and instruct etc etc..cos my hands were busy ma!

DKSH Warehouse Sale

It's been a tradition that I visit the Diethlem Warehouse sale at least once a year, and since I knew that they distribute MamyP Diapers, it is a must to go! However, it's always been crazy, packed with so many people, that it's been impossible to even go in the Scholl shoes section. So I've never been able to get any Scholl shoes before until this time. Weyo?

Well, thanks to blogging, I've come to know a fellow blogger who is a staff of that company! So she offered to bring me in during the Staff Purchase time, one hour before the time that it's open to public. However, I was late and when I called her, she didn't answer her phone. Oh no...1st thing 1st, the jam started like 500m from the place and I just took the chance to drive on and upon reaching the place, I saw a car coming out! YEAH! So managed to park very close to the place which was important as I only went with my maid and the stuff we are going to get are going to be HEAVY!

2nd thing, there was already one kampung (crowd) of people waiting at the main gate. How on earth is the fellow blogger going to see me leh??? She should be busy buying things for herself also ma...Then I just stood stupidly outside the side gate where the guardhouse is. Before long, suddenly she appeared! I screamed out her name like seeing God liddat! She was leaving and didn't know that I was coming after all! Phew! It was like by chance I managed to catch her to bring me in. The moment I went in, I was practically running towards the diapers section and to my horror the queue was like as long as 100m long! So I left my maid in the queue and surveyed other areas. Took my time browsing and couldn't help looking at the crowd waiting outside the main gate...kakakakaka....

After buying one round I went to check on my maid and she hasn't moved much! Then 2nd round came and she moved like 3 metres! WTF! Then I went to the shoes section and managed to get these 2 pairs at RM50 each only! Warao, had time to ponder, try & think...deciding which ones to get...and even at the cashier there wasn't a queue! Amazing isn't it?

After the shoes, there really wasn't anything to see, so went back to the diaper queue and found a chair and relaxed la! Suddenly I heard someone calling me AMAH! It was Shannon! She looked at me with the most grateful and relieved look! Yes, before she asked, I offered to put in the order of the diapers together with mine! Yes, this time round they became more efficient, gave us a form to fill to avoid confusion and wasting time.

Shannon said she will not go again..but if I can go in prior to the public time, why not???

I would like to thank all well wishers and Apah for his be-early present and also a surprise bouquet of flowers he had sent to my office. Ok, the present was expected, since he was going to be away, the flowers came as a surprise but after knowing who delivered them, it was like cheh......Anyway, it was still very sweet of him la....pssstt...Apah hardly buy flowers for me, if I ever received flowers, means he screwed up bad!! kakakakakkaa....

It was a quiet birthday, ate dinner at mom's place. Aiya, celebrated last week ledi ma...thanks to Oscar Mommy & gang!

Update on Kieran

Ok, my patience level with him has really been tested maximum ledi. I really cannot tahan anymore. Firstly, the stress of sending and bringing him back from school like not enough, to coach and guide him to finish his homework is the major test!

Since Apah is not around, for the past few days it's been me helping him with the work. It's not that he's not bright at all, just soooo lazy. Reminds me of my maid now! I kept telling him,

Me-Do you want to be like kakak?

K-No..

Me-Then you must concentrate and think!

Well weyo? Doing maths with him really can vomit blood one. The maths he's doing now is like a repetition from kindy standard only, but he's like so totally blur and refused to think at all. When I prompt him for the answer, he just tembak (simply guess) the answer, like what's the difference between 2 & 1, he will like just stare into la la land and just simply guess one answer! Ayoooo...tuition teacher will only start classes in February...I know it's like a few more days but still, it's disheartening to find out how slow he is, and also he couldn't even complete copying what he's supposed to copy from the whiteboard! He couldn't complete copying the homework for Monday and guessed what he did? He asked his friend to complete it for him on Tuesday!!! Die or not????

Clubbing & Kylie's Update

Ya ya..the title like so contrasting, clubbing mother..tsk tsk...bad example...no lar..I don't do this all the time ok, only when Piggyhoo comes back for holiday...otherwise who will go with me leh..


Last Saturday Amah went clubbing with Piggyhoo. We went to this club called Luna Bar located on the 34th floor of Menara Pan Global. Wah...it was an eye opener for Amah, cos that place was like fuiyoh, so cantik (beautiful) ok. It was sort of open concept, the bar surrounding the swimming pool (facilities for the Pacific Regency Suite Service Apartments). The window seats were all booked so we didn't get to sit there. The window seats are like so romantic ok, with full window view of KL. Our table is next to the pool with a view of KLCC but because of the angle we didn't get the view of the twin towers. It was a rainy Saturday so the club was faily quiet. There is also a floor above with better view but that place is always booked in advance.

Since there were only two of us, it was kinda boring after a while. The food they served was not good and kinda burnt too. When we complained and asked them to change they came back after a while and told us it's standard! Just because they have a nice location they can serve yucky food! What a spoiler! We left early and didn't bother to go to another club as it was pouring...

Kylie's Update

Last Friday we went back to old place to sleep and Kylie goes back to her cot. But to our horrors, in the middle of the night she was standing next to our bed staring into Apah's face and said this,

K-Eh...

Apah-Amah wake up! Kylie got out of the cot herself!

Amah-huh......WHAT??!!??

Turned on the light and then put her back inside the cot. She cried a while but then she demonstrated how she got out again! She put up one leg then pushed herself up and while hanging on the railing, she stretched out her arms to the bed railing on Kieran's bed andslipped over! Tada! Terror or not???

It's been very difficult to get her to sleep also. When I start singing this, "Baby baby go to sleep..." She will shake her head and say, "No no.." Oh God help me for the next 3 nights as Apah is away in Singapore!

Christmas Eve

Taking a break from my Hong Kong trip update but this is a backdated post.

Had Christmas dinner at mom's place and this year we decided to have steam boat. Usually my older brother would cook western food but this year he decided not to as he claims lack of practise! Anyway, the steam boat was good. I bought a Christmas cake from the bakery in Isetan and it was simply yummilicious! It was a green tea cake. Highly recommended!!



Then after dinner Piggyhoo called me to join her & old school friends for a nite out. Met her at the Curve and the traffic was horrendous so thank God LaundryApah dropped me there and I didn't need to look for carpark. Met the gang at this Paddington Pancake restaurant as some of her friends have not eaten. It was like 9.30 already and their food was yet to be served! They only served the drink after about an hour! So they decided to make some noise and complained but they said they couldn't do anything as they couldn't cope with the demand! Food finally arrived after 1.5hrs and one of it was a wrong order! The poor girls were so hungry they didn't bother to complain so they just dugged in and gobbled it up. They admitted the order was wrong and we demanded some discount or some free drinks and they didn't react but just smiled sheepishly only! WTF!! I was not eating but still I was quite mad lor! Then the girls decided not to pay for the meal and we just walked off 2 by 2! See la these people, didn't even realise also! I am sure there are many others who walked off without paying. Wow, it's amazing how daring these young people are nowadays. For me, no matter how terrible the service, I don't think I can just walk off without paying, just tell the whole world how bad they were "mai shuin lor..." (was good enough).

Then we proceeded to Desa Hartamas for the countdown to Christmas. Again, parking was like full and we spotted a spot just enought to squeeze Piggyhoo's car but it was not a legal lot la. Then this Indian boy came and demanded RM10 for the parking fee! I asked what right he has to demand that amount and he said that it was Christmas eve so it's standard fee! WTF! What standard fee? Just becos we didn't park in their parking lot they wanted to still collect the fee. We didn't want trouble so we drove off and parked further away at a private car park which was also RM10 but we felt better since it was a legal parking area!

Went to this club called My Home, wah it's been like donkey years since Amah went clubbing ok. Amah got culture shock lor! Those girls kept camwhoring non-stop. Amah also camwhored a bit la but cannot beat them man! Then after the countdown the DJ invited guests to dance and there was this group of aunties who came out and started dancing Line Dance! Waraoeh! I thought I was the oldest there but I was not lor! hahahhaha... The DJ called them the Pussycats of Hartamas and they were like dancing for 3 songs and I was like kinda didn't want to see the 4th one lor...begged the gang to out instead but they dare not! Young ciku memang young ciku, like that also dare not. So Amah of course have to lead the way la! kakakkaka...Can u imagine this Amah dancing with those young 21 year olds?? Happening leh...

Then one of them got info that there were police blocks everywhere and all of them drank alcohol except me & Piggghoo. So I was asked to help drive one of the girl's car. So off we went and the police upon seeing this innocent looking Amah didn't even stop me, just flagged me to continue! muahahahhaha....

I was feeling hungry from all the excitement and suggested to go mamak in SS2. I was led to this really happening mamak called Murni. The menu they had was like endless and most of them I've not heard of before! Wah this Amah very out la! The food and drinks were amazing!

Drink was Mango special and the food was Garlic Cheese Naan...wah 1st time for Amah leh..soooo soooo yummieeeee lor...

Ok, flight out of KL delayed due to engine problems. We were quite worried and I thought that it better be delayed rather than have any problems while we are up in the air! They managed to fix the problem in about an hour’s time. It was a weird hour as I flew Emirates, the flight which came from Indonesia. Yes the plane was full of Indonesian maids enroute to the Middle East. And I have to be so suey to sit next to one! She slept the whole journey as the seat next to her was empty. Her shoes kept knocking on me and I had to shove them away a few times! $%^& biatch!

I hardly slept during the flight, just caught naps here and there. Due to the delay, my transit time at Dubai was very short. Oh forgot to mention that there was an American guy who chatted me up during checking in time. He took opportunity to talk to me on the sky train, the waiting lounge but I was not interested of course so I guess he got the signal gua…He caught up with me in Dubai again but I left quickly as it was time for me to board for transit anyway..hahaha…That's the thing when I travel alone...can be vulnerable...beware LaundryApah!!

WHERE'S MY PASSPORT???

First thing I came to office was to check my passport and stuff. I opened my safe and took out all the passports, saw my son's, my daughter's, my old expired one and my maids....EH! SHIAKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE THE 'L' IS MY CURRENT VALID PASSPORT???? PANIC ledi!!!!!!!! Sifted through all the documents inside the safe, checked my ever so messy drawers...TADAK!! Sei lor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't play me leh....went and search in my room, and dug out every single bag but still....TADAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweating by now..OTOKE???

Called hubby to stress him out la...cannot stress alone wat! Then he said he will come back from his conference in Nilai and sent me this sms, "I'm sacrificing my career for you..."...

Then got maid to help bring out all my clothes while I continue searching my messy office table. The maid came down like in a few minutes with my PASSPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was saying it was in the blue plastic drawer la..BUT BUT BUT..I searched it just now wor...didn't see one.....

Anyways, THANK GOD that it's not like MISSING as in terdropped on the road or wat! So today my maid is the hero for the day! PHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.......

Food Served at Salon

I guess it's common that tea or some kind of beverage is served at hair salons but the one I go to serves food leh! Each time I go there's bound to have yummy food and also different summore! Tzeng leh...(excellent or not..) Why do I get such priviledge? No lar I'm not that important a customer la, eh come on, the cost of having my hair done at RM15.00 cannot have food served also la..where got such good deals leh?

Well, what they say, it's who you know lor..I think I mentioned before, my cousin operates her nyonya kuih factory next door to this salon and they are very close buddies (or rather majong and eating buddies) and my cousin does most of her cooking at the salon's premises simply because her factory is classified "Halal" meaning only muslim food, so no chinese cooking la! So whenever I'm there, there's usually food if my cousin is around. Even if she's not around, some other customer would have cooked something and shared with the salon. So, I've been pretty blessed cos each time I go there's bound to be something yummie! hehehe...

Today's menu was the "Hokkien style pan mee soup" and it was really yummie yummie no joke leh! Sorry didn't take picture cos I got too excited and dug in and "chiak ka liow" (finished eating) immediately after it was brought out for me! Can you imagine this luxury of having your hair done and food served????? No leh.... I got lor! Jealous or not?? Muahahahaha...

Ayo today everyone under the weather

My kids have been coughing for weeks now and today I also kena leow. In fact I felt uneasy yesterday but had to drive down south to do a demo and came back only about 9.30p.m. I could feel my legs getting really oozie while driving back and was getting chills ledi. So I was speeding like mad! Nevermind la, I think all the cops went to buka puasa and should be eating the whole night so will not be able to catch me! Was so dead tired when I arrived, just showered and dumped kids to bed and I dropped dead too. Kylie was crying a little while but I was just too tired to do anything, thank God she slept shortly after that...I think cos I was too dead tired...Kylie was coughing the whole night also..poor lil baby....

Today my voice also changed. Fast fast went to see doctor..so it will not become worse! Wah after my nap, developed fever summore...aiya better not continue sleeping, got up and went online! Hahaha...believe or not?? Got better wor! muahahahahaa....

My Neighbourhood Salon

I go to this "che kai" (not so glamourous) suburban hair salon to wash my hair. (very cheap ma!) Mostly aunties and grannies (bringing their maids/kids for haircuts!) go there, so I usually just let them wash my hair and not do anything else there ler..hehehe...sked ma..(afraid) after turn out like one laundryahSOH otoke?

Anyway, they still use this giant hair blower to set hair by curling your hair in rollers. I notice that many newer salons do not adopt this method anymore simply because this method has become obsolete. But according to my hairdresser, the reason for salons not adopting this method is that new hairdressers were not taught to curl the hair with curlers. Strange lor cos it doesn't look all that difficult to me but it's really time consuming only as it takes 45 minutes to blow dry my hair...My hairdresser said this method is the best as it will not cause damage. True wor..

So this is what I go through twice a week under the brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....blower....kekekeke...the result really soft flowing curls that never fails to dazzle! cheh wah...

Visit to Income Tax Department

I was all prepared to spend the whole day there, you know all prepared with my camera and all to bitch about the bad service and long wait but but lo and behold I was served in just a short while and the officer was indeed an angel!

I was so impressed and actually thought I should have taken down the officer's name to give him a compliment in writing..like real! REAL ONE!! Ahbutden..too lazy lor..Anyway, I found out that there is a delay of 2 years in my tax assessment, meaning I will only have to pay for the tax 2 years later! Waliau, why so delay one..sekali no money how leh..anyway he said it's the same la, just delayed 2 years only ma. Anyway kuci rat (small) income like mine they also not bothered ler. And I managed to find out that I had overpaid my taxes many moons ago so I don't have to pay for tax for quite some time leh..hehehehe..

Actually I wanted to show the picture of the miserable signboards in the carpark to show the contrast when I saw the flicker light arrow further inside the car part. It's like how come they didn't have the budget to make a proper signboard but had the budget for the flicker light sign?? Strange..so I still got a lot to learn in this blogging field...marn marn lai ler.. (slowly ler)

Seeing Ghosts

Aiya, I didn't want to write about my dream last Saturday but after reading 5XMom's latest post, cannot resist lor.

I actually dreamt that I met the ghosts and actually had conversations with them. The dream started with me driving alone a dark road and it was natually raining also to like make it scarier..You know like those ghost movies on tv, with the smoky effect somemore..Then suddenly I saw ghosts along the roadside! I was like YIKES! But like still want to act cool cos I thought if I pretended I didn't see them they will not kacau me la. Then the scene like changed and I was suddenly sitting at a deserted restaurant with someone but this someone has no face one lor..meaning I don't remember who it is! Eh so strange, just now driving alone, now suddenly got eating partner! Screwed up screenplay! Then I was looking around and commented, " Aiya no other customers one, like so weird.." Then the so-called eating partner said "Go and check out the kitchen la." So I went la, then I saw one cook and he was preparing the ingredients. I saw sotong (squid) and it looked kinda fresh..strange..why sotong only..I also cannot understand. There was only one waiter and a cashier. Then suddenly there were health officers approaching the restaurant! Ok, this is really really stupid lor cos where got health officers come and do inspection at nite one..(again screenplay screwed up here). Then the officers wanted to take pictures of the place and also the staff too. I saw the waiter panicked and he came and pulled me aside.

W - Can help me out here. We can't be in the photos..

Me - Why?

W - turns into the ghost (which I saw earlier!!!)

Me - (OMG!!! Hair standing on ends!! but couldn't scream ..)

W - Pls..we can't be in the photo, the photo will capture the ghost figures.. Pls can you help me by being the staff and tell the officer to take photo of you and your friend instead

Me - (Do I have a choice??) o-o-o-ok ok...

Then the health officers took a photo of us...and the dream ended...

When I woke up I was like scratching my head..aiyo what kind of a dream or rather nightmare is this?? And guess what my hubby said? Watched too much Sam Soon and reading blogs la! Tai sei.. (Serves you right) Why he mentioned Sam Soon cos of the restaurant scene..gila or not and the blog part...hmm quite true la cos the dream was after I read the post by Lin Peh on August 7, 2006! Eerriieee or not..of course cannot believe la cos I'm a Christian wat..cheh...
